Bracebridge Highland Games August 2010

Hi All,

Well we did our first Bracebridge Highland Games this past Saturday. With all shows one never quit knows what to expect until you get there and have to in some cases only rely on information from other vendors or people that may have been there in the past. While we always going into to shows with goals based on what a similar show maybe like. In this case we used Haliburton Highland Games as the benchmark.

While Haliburton’s Games have been running for 22 years and Bracebridge only for a few there is the potential for this to become a good event. The location at Annie Williams Park in Bracebridge is easy to find, parking is good and the location overall on the river is very pleasant. While the initial weather forecast was calling for showers for the day, we lucked out ans it only rained a little bit and was over by 10:00 a.m. after that it was cloudy for the day.

While foot traffic was a bit thin on the ground, there were people watching the Dancers, Heavy Events (Large Men Throwing Stuff) and the Pipers of course. We have to say while there wasn’t loads of people those that were there were interested in picking up some goodies for themselves and others.

Some of the best sellers at this show were Tunnocks Snowballs, Border Shortbread Rings, Cadbury Curly Wurly, Cadbury Flake (original & dipped), Dairy Milk 49g, Buchanan’s Clotted Cream Fudge, Fry’s Turkish¬†Delight, Lees Tablet, McCowan’s Toffee, Rowntrees Jelly Tots, Flying Saucers, Edinburgh Castle Rock, Irn-Bru and Walkers Crisps to mention a few.

We have ran our numbers and we will be returning for the 2011 incarnation. Thanks to all the came by and purchased from us.  cheers Paul
